RCG apprentices on European trip
The training is in Austria – the market is in Europe and beyond. Our apprentices therefore have the opportunity to experience internationality first hand during the “RCG European Weeks”.
During their apprenticeship, apprentice forwarding agents of the Rail Cargo Group have the chance to spend a total of four weeks of their training time at one of our European sites. The “RCG European Weeks” focus on the future and offer young people fresh perspectives – both for their personal development and for the promotion of mobility and diversity in the company. Once again this year, 12 apprentices took this opportunity and “relocated” to Frankfurt am Main, Wolnzach near Munich, Prague, Budapest, Zagreb and Venice in October.
True to the motto “Working and living in Europa”, the participants worked within an international environment and expanded their personal horizons through cross-border learning. Our apprentices finally returned to Austria after the four-week trip with their bags full of various impressions, new experiences and lots of enthusiasm. There is already a waiting list for the next European trip in 2018.
The success of the European Weeks, which have been organised since 2013 by RCG and the association IFA, is also reflected in a recently received award: Federal Minister Harald Mahrer presented the European quality label “Excellent company for learning in Europe” to RCG at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics. The award was presented for the first time this year and thus makes RCG a trendsetter when it comes to the international orientation of its apprentice training programme.
