This Is Where We Store and Move

24. 04. 2025

Our warehouses keep our customers’ goods safe and secure until they are needed elsewhere – then we make sure they get to the right destination at the right time. Here we explain where our warehouses are located and what happens there.

They are important hubs in international rail freight transport and indispensable for efficient logistics: our warehouse locations. Direct rail connections and docking stations enable goods to be transferred directly from rail to the warehouses at our eight international logistics locations. We store our customers' goods there and transport them onwards as required. In order to maintain an overview of 400,000 pallet spaces and to time transports precisely to suit customer requirements, we rely on state-of-the-art warehouse management with IT-supported administration.

Things are moving here

Our warehouses are therefore important logistics hubs, and this is where things really get moving. Numerous employees work with forklifts, pallet trucks and cranes to provide warehousing services – from cross-docking activities such as loading and unloading, incoming goods and quality control to order-picking, labelling as well as customs and waste management. In addition to continuous goods inspection, there are special alarm and security systems to protect the goods. Special care is required for safety-relevant goods and dangerous goods.

Our eight international warehouse locations:

  • Austria: We have a strong presence in Austria – with three warehouse locations at the interfaces of the key rail freight transport corridors. Our largest warehouse in Krems offers warehouse logistics for various classes of dangerous goods and covers an area of more than 11,000 m2. Our site in Vienna's Freudenau district has a block warehouse for stackable paper goods, and our warehouse in Lenzing also specialises in paper and pulp.
  • Hungary: Be it food, steel or cars – at our location in Győrszemere (conveniently located close to the M1/A4 motorway and Győr) we store goods of all kinds. In addition to a block warehouse, a rack warehouse and a bonded warehouse, our site in Győrszemere even has a refrigerated warehouse for temperature-sensitive goods.
  • Bosnia-Herzegovina: At our warehouse location in Sarajevo, we receive, plan and store full container loads or general cargo. Our employees are true professionals in warehouse handling; they know exactly what requirements food, furniture and consumer goods have, and they and know the 9,000 pallet spaces like the back of their hands.
  • Italy: The two logistics centres in Desio in the province of Monza Brianza and San Stino di Livenza in the province of Venice are crucial for rail freight transport throughout Italy. Our warehouse in Desio covers an area of 80,000 m2 and is one of the most modern and best-equipped logistics centres in Lombardy.
  • Croatia: Our logistics centres in Zagreb and Novi Zagreb are important hubs for transporting goods throughout southern and south-eastern Europe. Our transshipment warehouse in Novi Zagreb specialises in aluminium and PVC profiles; all kinds of goods await their onward journey in Zagreb.
