Almost every car travels by rail at least once. Starting with the transport of ore, steel, the car parts up to the finished vehicle. A new special design now makes it possible for us to transport car bodies even more efficiently. This is how we are broadening our range of services for the automotive industry - and our SmartLINK digital service portfolio.
We have the right equipment for every kind of freight. Transporting cars is particularly demanding, but we know the requirements from decades of experience. And we never stop getting better: By tailoring our offering perfectly to production systems, we're delivering ever higher-performing products for the automotive industry on environmentally friendly rails. These kinds of innovations are what make us competitive with the road.
Our new concept for transporting car bodies features folding posts on the upper wagon structure. This makes it easier to stack the containers in large-capacity carts. We can now transport eight car bodies per wagon. A block train with 15 wagons per week thus carries 115 car bodies. Thus, our trains can transport a maximum of 23 car bodies per day and more than 150 car bodies per week to their destination by sustainable rail - in Austria, throughout Europe and even as far as Asia. This is a real step forward which saves our customers' budgets and the environment.
