Whether at work or at home: sustainability and actively looking after the environment mean a lot to staff at the Rail Cargo Group. Our 9,340 logistics experts and 105 apprentices from 34 countries help make rail transport services run smoothly for our customers and help reach the European CO2 and climate targets.
It’s often the little things that make a big difference. As part of our “Green RCG” series, we are putting the spotlight on members of staff who care a lot about protecting the environment and who inspire others with their motivation and dedication.
Our colleague Daniela Nassberger, is a train driver and personnel deployment manager at ÖBB-Produktion GmbH. Living sustainably is something that is very close to her heart.
“We owe it to every living creature to look after our planet and live consciously. After all, no one wants their children or grandchildren to inherit a world that’s full of danger,” she says with regard to future generations.

During her working day, she takes care to park vehicles in energy-saving mode and always focuses on driving efficiently. As a personnel deployment manager, she also spends time working at the office. Here, she makes sure she airs the room briefly instead of keeping the window open all the time so that she and her colleagues get the fresh air they need.
Little changes of habits are often what make a massive impact.
