Welcome Day @ RCG

22. 02. 2021

To create prospects. To promote commitment. To assume responsibility. To develop pioneering spirit. To move logistics. To connect the world. This is what we stand for.

Motivated, dedicated employees are the very heart of the Rail Cargo Group. They are the key to corporate success. Much is done for this purpose. We are not only one of the largest training companies, we also set standards in the fields of health promotion, equal opportunities, training and further education, nurturing talent and developing management skills.

We attach great importance to a good start in our company. That's why every new employee has the chance to attend our Welcome Days.

Recently, our Welcome Sessions took place again - a look behind the scenes:

In addition to 17 new colleagues from Austria, we were pleased to welcome 14 colleagues from our subsidiaries in Italy, Poland, Croatia and the Czech Republic.

Cross-functional buddies for an international network

With our cross-functional buddy format, in which each new employee is assigned to an existing employee, our participants get to know each other right from the start.

The cross-functional buddy format enables our new colleagues from different departments to exchange ideas and form a cross-departmental network right from the start. The new employees can then fall back on this network again and again during the course of their employment if they have questions about another specialist area.

The aim is to network with each other across departmental boundaries, but above all across national boundaries, during the Welcome Sessions and afterwards.

Knowledge transfer for insights into our organization

After the get-to-know-you session, there was a meet & greet (this time also virtual) with our CEO Clemens Först.

Strengthened with all the information about the organization and the many different exciting areas of RCG, our new employees are now starting their new job with a good network.

We wish everyone success & fun in their new jobs.

Feedback from the participants:

"It was nice to be part of a Welcome Day, which took place not only with national, but also international newcomers to the RCG family.
I especially like the idea of forming a small "buddy group" - I am looking forward to another (maybe no longer purely virtual) exchange and coffee chat with this group. Apart from that, I would like to emphasize once again that I think it's super to connect new employees with each other and to provide all the information! You can tell that a lot of work and heart goes into this event, thank you!"

Barbara Lunzer from the strategy team

"The two online half-days were just the right amount of information to grow into the RCG more easily. The exchange was very open and productive, a good idea to use the cross-functional networking. I immediately and directly found a contact here with whom I have overlaps in the topics.
In the long term, the cross-functional and direct exchange helps to form RCG into a single unit."

Thomas Dangl from the Operational Safety team

"The mornings were very dynamic. I particularly enjoyed the cross-functional buddy format, as collective knowledge is always better than individual knowledge. It particularly contributed to idea creation and "out of the box" thinking, not only in the welcome sessions - but also for the future."
